To establish an organization for the African Immigrant and refugee community to participate in discussions and groups to help integrate, adapt and adjust into United States society and to discuss common problems and issues that need to be addressed for the betterment of its community. To promote, foster and increase kinship, unity, camaraderie and positive involvement among the community and its members in the United States. To do any other act or thing incidental to or connected with the foregoing purposes or in advancement thereof, but not for the pecuniary profit or financial gain of its members, directors, or officers except as permitted under law, and any other act or thing provided that the corporation does not engage in any act or activity under Section 404 of Not-for-Profit Corporation Law requiring the consent of approval of any state official, department, board, agency, or other body without such consent or approval first being obtained.
