🌟 Check out our Star Volunteer, Illona Anderson 🌟 Illona has been with Mama’s House since July 2022. She has always had a soft spot for the preborn child, and for the mothers who struggle with the decision to carry them to term. We decided to ask Illona a few questions because we love her and we think you should know who is at Mama’s House, too! 👩🏻‍💻: What’s your role as a volunteer, and what tasks do you typically perform? ✍️: I like to help wherever I am most needed. Lately I have been babysitting; sometimes I drive residents to/from appointments. I have also started helping in the boutique where residents can get things they need such as clothes and diapers. I enjoy assisting with mailers and working at fundraising events. 👩🏻‍💻: Why do you believe the work of Mama’s House is important? ✍️: Scripture tells us to care for those who are not able to care for themselves. Mama’s House not only cares for the women and children in their time of need, but also sets them on a course where they can eventually become independent. 👩🏻‍💻: What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you? ✍️: As a hobby, I dance hula. I take weekly class and we periodically perform at community events. 👩🏻‍💻: Can you share a memorable experience or moment from your time at Mama’s House? ✍️: I’m a member of Southwest Church. One memorable experience is when several of the residents got baptized there. It was so special to witness that moment in their lives, and then be able to encourage them in their faith journey afterward. 👩🏻‍💻: How do you balance volunteering with other aspects of your life? ✍️: I make it part of my calendar. Each week God gives me the gift of time, so I make sure that I devote some of that time to His ministry work. 👩🏻‍💻: if you could describe your volunteering experience in one word, what would it be and why? ✍️: LOVE— The motto of Mama’s House is “Love Lives Here.” The residents are there because they love their children. The staff and volunteers are there because they love Jesus. And the ministry has been blessed because God loves all of us! (fb)

Congratulations to our very own Development Director, Lady Angela Allen, on being nominated for Inland Empire’s “2025 Woman of Achievement!” At this celebration, of course our dear Lady Angela shared what Mama’s House does with those she sat around the table. A history professor, hearing what we do, praised what we did proclaiming, “you’re doing what [they] are aiming to measure!” He, along with a Wells Fargo representative, then booked a tour with her to come find out more for themselves.
