There's nothing like coming home! Helena had the opportunity to return to her hometown and speak at the Opelika Chamber meeting. She highlighted the powerful impact of legislation like The Child Care Tax Credit and Working for Alabama—key initiatives designed to strengthen and expand our local workforce. Communities across the state, from smaller cities like Opelika to major metropolitan areas, have faced workforce challenges, and these policies are critical solutions. A huge thank you to the Opelika Chamber of Commerce for hosting her and fostering important conversations about Alabama’s future! (fb)

What are the keys to advancing Alabama's workforce and economy? According to Senate Majority Leader Steve Livingston, collaboration between the business community, local leaders, and policymakers is critical, along with "being ready for tomorrow's problems today and having those problems solved." Leader Livingston also shared that passing the General Fund Budget and Education Trust Fund Budget is at the top of the priority list for the remaining 13 days of session. And, if you're curious as to why Leader Livingston is waving a white flag, check out our Facebook video for the full briefing 🤭! Join us April 8 for a discussion with House Majority Leader Scott Stadthagen at our next weekly briefing. (fb)
