Transit Riders
The Transit Riders Union fights for every human being to have access to safe, affordable, an TRU organizes for economic justice including better public transit, stronger renter protections & labor standards, and progressive funding for public goods and services in Seattle and King County. In 2023, our main areas of work included leading or supporting campaigns to raise the minimum wage in Burien, unincorporated King County, and Renton; organizing for stronger renter protection policies in Seattle, SeaTac, Shoreline, and Tukwila; continuing direct "mutual aid" work with people living unsheltered in Seattle; and researching progressive tax options and advocating for progressive revenue in Seattle.
