We are a catalyst for a music-infused West Michigan! The Block serves a regional audience and is a simple, accessible, inspirational space where music pushes the boundaries of tradition and expectation and encourages investigation. Our educational mission is also to provide musical training through challenging orchestra performance experiences that complement school and community music programs in West Michigan. The Block is committed to providing programs that nurture young musicians with creative and unique performance and educational opportunities not otherwise available to them.

Thank you to everyone who joined us last weekend to celebrate an unforgettable finale to your West Michigan Symphony’s 85th season, featuring violinist Tessa Lark. On Friday, Music Director Scott Speck led a showcase of American artistry, performing iconic works by Copland, alongside Michael Torke’s Sky—a piece written especially for our guest violinist.
