It may look like an experimental 20th-century avant-garde composition but this unique and beautiful notation comes from a 1706 collection of notated choreography: “A Collection of Ball-Dances perform’d at Court; All Compos’d by Mr. Isaac and Writ Down in Characters, by John Weaver” published in London. Emperor of the Moon features period choreography by Mr. Isaac and his brother-in-law Anthony L’Abbé.
