Interested in learning how two agencies are helping to connect evidence to policy and using data to build safer, healthier communities? Voting for panels at #SXSW is now open through Sunday – sign in a select “arrow up” to join NCHS Director Brian Moyer, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Acting Evaluation Officer Katherine Dawes, and Data Foundation President Nick Hart as they discuss the latest innovations in government policymaking. With public distrust and dissatisfaction in government institutions at an all time high, evidence-based policymaking can be a tool to rebuild public's trust and confidence. Many officials within the government see the incredible opportunities for growth and innovation as policymakers, researchers, and the public demand evidence-based policy. Cast your vote to hear how two agencies – the U.S. National Center for Health Statistics and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency – are leveraging data for evidence-building. https://panelpicker.sxsw.com/vote/127858 (fb)

Voting for #SXSW is live through August 21! Sign in or create an account and select “arrow up” to hear Data Foundation's Nick Hart, Ph.D., United States Senate Homeland Security & Govt. Affairs Committee's Matthew T. Cornelius, and Schmidt Futures' Kumar Garg discuss digital identities and how to create a more inclusive, effective identity process. There is currently no national standard for verifying identity, and the verification methods that do exist, such as the state issued driver’s license, fail to capture eleven percent of Americans. As we expect to be able to access key government services digitally, the challenges of identity verification become even more difficult. Government entities are uniquely positioned to develop and deliver a national standard for digital identity that can address the current challenges – vote yes to send this panel to #SXSW for a conversation on what a digital identity process should look like and how it can serve the public! https://panelpicker.sxsw.com/vote/127974 (fb)
