The 2025 AAMVA Leadership Academy kicked off today in Arlington, Virginia, with 20 participants joining the class. AAMVA's Leadership Academy provides professional development opportunities for future leaders in the AAMVA community. The program is designed for jurisdiction employees who have demonstrated leadership potential and the ability to succeed in positions of greater responsibility within their agencies. The week-long academy takes place each year in the spring, and includes modules on defining leadership, teamwork and collaboration, organizational performance management, and more. It is an intense training opportunity focused on the unique characteristics of leading and managing a motor vehicle or law enforcement agency. AAMVA's 2025 Fraud Pop-Up Classroom got underway today in St. Paul, Minnesota! The 2025 Fraud Pop-Up Classroom will be a two-day educational experience focused on fraud. AAMVA staff, members of the AAMVA Cyber Digital Fraud Working Group, and industry fraud experts will share their knowledge on many topics including: * Deterring and detecting fraudulent access to online MVA accounts * Latest practices in biometric verification * Jurisdiction experiences with title, odometer, and identity fraud * Other current topics identified during the AAMVA monthly fraud awareness calls * Other AAMVA fraud resources available to assist jurisdictions in the deterrence and detection fraud.
