F.I.R.S.T. Contractors, Inc.
First In Readiness and Self-Sufficiency TrainingFIRST Contractors, Inc. (FCI) offers over 14 years ofexperience operating human services programs and associated social enterprises in metro-Richmond, Virginia and surrounding counties. FCI works to aid in the growth and development of approximately 100 youth and young adults per year through job readiness and employability training provided within a community of support. FCI's clients are those youth and young adults between the ages of 16 - 21, transitioning from incarceration, aging out of foster care, or participating in rehabilitative services; and hard to employ individuals living in local public housing developments. With little job experience and presenting challenges such as poverty, low educational attainment, neglect or abuse, and lack of family support, it is virtually impossible for these individuals to find gainful and meaningful employment and to become economically self-sufficient without some intervention. With the assistance of FCI, these young people are able to move towards building a solid foundation for their lives, while working towards self-sufficiency.
