CAARE is a national non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to sparing animal suffering by promoting research and testing without animals. CAARE is a non-profit organization working to facilitate progress to animal-free research and testing Citizens for Alternatives to Animal Research and Experimentation (CAARE) educates the public, media, legislators and scientists about strategies to reduce and replace animal research with new and emerging scientific modalities not requiring the use of animals. We do this by demonstrating – through our website, electronic communications, and publications – how the abundance of new technologies can successfully replace animal research. CAARE works to shift the current paradigm of massive, repetitive, and unnecessary animal testing by supporting federal to reduce animal suffering and the numbers of animals used in federally funded research.

Citizens for Alternatives to Animal Research Citizens for Alternatives to Animal Research Astounding technological advances over the past few decades have changed the world especially in the realm of science. It is now possible to conduct a vast array of experiments without using animals and derive results that are faster cheaper and more relevant to human medicine. Genomics and DNA sequencing allow scientists to link human genetic traits to specific diseases providing new routes for cures and treatments. Noninvasive imaging techniques enable a window into the human brain and body often in real time providing new avenues for research diagnosis and treatment.
