BearHug is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that helps children whose parents are deployed in the military by sending care packages to the children. Each care package includes letters from other children who want to thank them for their sacrifice for our country. Studies have shown that children who have parents in the military have a higher likelihood to have depression than children whose parents are not in the military*. Depression can be caused by loneliness *. At BearHug, we believe that we can help ease the loneliness some children experience.
