Join us for a special ceremony as we honor Deputy Chief Monroe Coleman with the official dedication of the Monroe Coleman Baseball Field. Deputy Chief Coleman was a founding force behind the Black Police Officers Association of Omaha and a tireless advocate for justice, equity, and positive change. His legacy of leadership and service continues to inspire our community, and this field stands as a tribute to his lifelong commitment. The Monroe Coleman Baseball Field will serve as a safe, supportive space for youth from neighborhoods impacted by poverty and gun violence – offering them opportunities for engagement, growth, and community. Thursday, May 29th from 2:00 – 3:00pm Bowling Green Park 7065 Blondo Street Speakers include Police Chief Todd Schmaderer, Co-Founder of the Black Police Officers Association of Omaha Captain Ken Fox, Co-Founder and President of the Black Police Officers Association of Omaha Lieutenant Marcus Taylor, Troy Giegling with Mammoth Sports Construction, and Parks and Recreation Director Matt Kalcevich. Refreshments will be served, and a celebratory baseball game will follow the dedication. We look forward to your attendance! (fb)
