AFAW Empowering Afghan Women for a Better Future Action for Afghan Women is working to provide quality healthcare to women in the Helmand province of Afghanistan. As a 501c3 nonprofit volunteerrun organization our goal is to bring an Americantrained doctor to the region and build a clinic for her to serve thousands of women and children. The doctor is from the area so she understands the dire need to provide health care to these women. In Afghanistan it is typically not considered culturally appropriate for women to see male doctors.
