In conjunction with the national AAUP, the Georgia Conference works to advance academic freedom and shared governance, and to define fundamental professional values and standards for higher education. GA AAUP provides assistance and advice to individual faculty members, represents the concerns of faculty to the governing body of higher education in Georgia, and through other means works to ensure higher education's contribution to the common good
