The Conservancy has received a taxidermy mountain lion from an anonymous donor! We are raising funds to pay for her refresh and a new habitat. Special note: the highest bidder (or perhaps the most enthusiastic contributor) gets to name her! 🔗https://secure.givelively.org/donate/escondido-creek-conservancy/our-mountain-lion-needs-a-makeover She was killed many years ago, when mountain lion hunting was legal in California, and has been in storage. Our goal is to refresh the specimen such that she'll be stable for another few decades and can be used as a teaching tool to help educate people about these beautiful animals. We plan to dress up the plywood board and put her in a more natural "habitat," similar to what you might see in a museum. Before the taxidermist can get started, our lioness needs to head to the San Diego Natural History Museum (thank you, San Diego Natural History Museum) to have a spa week in their freezer to kill any small critters that might be hiding out of sight or within.
