Memorial Day is a day to honor those who have fought for our freedom. This weekend, thanks to the incredibly hard work of our dedicated volunteers, we were able to flag our Veteran’s gravestones. On Saturday morning the majority of the cemetery had anywhere from 3 to 6 foot tall grass. At noon today the entire cemetery was cut. It isn’t perfect, but we accomplished our goal of getting the first rough cut completed so we could flag. THANK YOU to each and every person who took the time and cared enough to make this happen. You lead by example, you make the community a better place and you prove that there is still good in the world. You have also proven for the 13th summer in a row that we can in fact do what several people said we could never do in the beginning… You make a difference at Eastern Cemetery!
