Protecting Our Waters: NCAI Stands Firm on Tribal Sovereignty After Sackett Decision and Federal Rollbacks NCAI, in partnership with the National Tribal Water Council (NTWC), submitted a formal comment letter this month to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The letter urges stronger protections for waters and wetlands vital to Tribal Nations — both on and off tribal trust lands — in the wake of the Sackett v. EPA decision. The goal: to ensure Tribal waters, rights, and voices are not diminished or ignored. The letter cites nine key NCAI resolutions underscoring our long-standing commitment to safeguarding Tribal waters and offers concrete steps for stronger federal protections. 🔗 Read the article and the letter: https://www.ncai.org/news/protecting-our-waters-after-sackett-decision-and-rollbacks (fb)
