Northeast Animal Shelter is one of New England's largest animal shelters. Since opening our doors in 1976, we have placed over 145,000 dogs and cats in permanent homes. Our key programs include: Saving Homeless Pets Across America, which rescues abandoned and homeless dogs and cats from across the U.S.; Humane Education Program, which teaches schoolchildren how to be responsible and loving pet owners; Foster Care Program, which provides a temporary home for pets that benefit by having time in a home setting before being adopted; and the Senior Visitation Program, which welcomes visitors from senior centers and nursing homes to our Shelter.
