A Short History The Friends of the Andrew Johnson National Historic Site is a nonprofit 501c3 organization whose goals are to support the Parks educational programs and other facilities and operational needs. The name reflects the past and ongoing relationship with the National Park. In 1980 Mrs. Margaret Johnson Patterson Bartlett greatgranddaughter of President Andrew Johnson donated to Tusculum College a collection of books and papers which belonged to the President.
