The promotion and exchange of research pertaining to the origin and evolution of man, culture and society with special focus on the Indo-European language family, primarily by the print & online publication of academic papers in the peer-reviewed, 51-year-old Journal of Indo-European Studies[JIES] and the JIES Monograph Series. It's not possible to accurately estimate the number of scholars and members of the general public who benefit from the organization's publications, because the institutions and university libraries that support the organization, by subscribing directly to and purchasing these publications, allow access to all faculty and students. Additionally, the organization offers subscriptions at heavily reduced rates for private individuals. The research published by the organization is also available digitally through contracting consolidators and copyright clearing houses. Moreover, most content is eventually uploaded to open-access sites, available to all in perpetuity.
