KSDS is a fully accredited member of Assistance Dogs International (ADI). ADI is a coalition of programs from around the world which train and place assistance dogs that formed in 1987. Together the coalition established the standards and ethics for training and placing assistance dogs.

At KSDS Assistance Dogs, we know that the journey to becoming a guide, service, or facility dog starts long before formal training - it begins in the homes and hearts of our dedicated puppy raisers. From the moment our puppies are placed at just 8 weeks old, these incredible volunteers take on the important job of teaching basic obedience, building social skills, and laying the foundation for each dog's future success. Over the course of 18-20 months, they nurture confidence, good manners, and a strong bond between dog and human - all with love and patience.
