The Problem Mali is a dry desert country of over 16 Million inhabitants located in West Africa. Over 80 of children under 5 and 65 of nursing mothers suffer from iron deficiency due to poor nutrition. These numbers are even more disturbing when you consider that iron deficiency sharply decreases learning ability in children and may lead to complications during pregnancy. the consequences of malnutrition are severe and long lasting if nothing is done to alleviate the problem.
