St Louis African Chorus DBA Intercultural Music Initiative

With the motto, "Music programming re-imagined," the Intercultural Music Initiative devotedly programs music by lesser-known composers, along with familiar standard repertoire Intercultural Music Initiative was founded in 1994 as St Louis African Chorus to promote diverse music repertoire by African-decent composers. The organization and its founder, Dr. Fred Onovwerosuoke ("FredO") have had the honor of collaborating with the music team on actor Robert De Niro's film, The Good Shepherd (Universal, 2006) and in 2008 partnered with Oxford University Press to publish the series, "Songs of Africa," a much sought choral music collection for performing groups and music educators across the US, Europe and beyond. The organization receives committed funding from the National Endowment for the Arts, Regional Arts Commission, Missouri Arts Council, Arts & Education Council, Boeing, Maritz, Enterprise Holdings, Trio Foundation, and Wells Fargo Advisors.
