Creating Leaders For Equal Play A Career Pathway for the Next Generation of Female Coaches In 1972 the year Title IX became law approximately 90 of all womens sports programs were headed by female coaches. Since then interest in womens athletics has exploded with more girls and women participating in more sports than ever before. And yet today were confronted with a deeply disturbing factThe number of women who are coaching womens teams has declined by over half since 1972. The Academy for Sport Leadership TASL is a Michiganbased nonprofit organization dedicated to reversing that trend.
