Honoring the literary heritage of Bklyn by celebrating & cultivating community & craft through a wide range of educational programs & events accessible to all Honoring the literary heritage of Brooklyn by celebrating and cultivating community and craft through a wide range of educational programs and events accessible to all—especially those marginalized by traditional literary and academic structures. Brooklyn Poets honors the literary heritage of Brooklyn by celebrating and cultivating community and craft through a wide range of educational programs and events accessible to all—especially those marginalized by traditional literary and academic structures. Brooklyn has historically been a gateway and refuge for immigrants and other systemically marginalized groups, where differences are welcomed and celebrated. It has also been a place for writers and artists to break new ground creatively and build community. In this spirit, we seek to set the standard for inclusive, creative spaces characterized by care and rigor through our workshops, classes, events and other programs, both in person and online.
