Research at the foundation is focused on the understanding and prevention of chronic infections. One of our current efforts is to develop a vaccine and diagnostic test for tuberculosis. With 8 million new cases and 2 million deaths from the disease each year, success in this endeavor will have great impact in many parts of the world where tuberculosis remains prevalent.
