Over 150 Golden Rodeo goers corralled on March 8th to kick off the celebration of Lift Me Up's 50th year of bringing happiness with the herd! The crowd enjoyed the "Fork in the Road" country band, line dancing instruction, lots of tasty vittles, and chatting with their friends from the community. Proceeds and pledges from the event kicked the Lift Me Up's Annual Fund Campaign into high gear. Anyone who missed giving to the Annual Fund Campaign can still make a donation at liftmeup.org/donations to help reach our $50K for 50 years goal. Volunteers are the “manpower” behind the “horsepower.” They are truly the lifeblood of our program. Fresh air, new friends, horses and exercise are just a few of the perks of being a volunteer. Volunteers (age 14 and up) are trained to help during lessons by leading and side-walking with our riders, and caring for the horses. Volunteers often say that they “get more than they give” because they make new friends, help others in their community and help bring joy to the lives of our riders and their families.
