River Keepers – Advocating sustainable use of the Red River of the North

Advocating for safe and sustainable use of the Red River of the North. River Keepers was formed in 1990 to advocate for safe and sustainable use of the Red River in Fargo, ND - Moorhead, MN. We provide opportunities for the community to learn about the Red River, help sustain it and safely enjoy it. Projects/Events/Activities Include: * Learn Objectives - Red River Water Festival for over 2550 4th grade students, story strolls, interpretive walks, river paddling excursions, goecaches, interpretive signs * Sustain Objectives - Reforest the Red tree plantings, riverbank and on-the-water cleanups, Storm Drain marking Program, T-shirt to Tote project, water quality monitoring, Resilient Yard Workshop Series * Enjoy objectives - canoe & kayak rentals, youth and adult fishing clinics and tournaments, Winter Solstice Walk, Race the Red, riverfront amenities
