🍔🌮🍕 Food Truck Passport: A Match Activity Idea for Bigs & Littles Across Florida! At Big Brothers Big Sisters Association of Florida, we love seeing our Bigs & Littles explore new experiences together...and what better way to do that than through food?! The Food Truck Passport is a fun way to connect, try something new, and support local businesses. From tacos in Tampa to maduros in Miami or fresh seafood in St. Pete, there’s a food truck experience waiting in every corner of the state. Use food truck finders online to map out your visits. Create your own "passport" to track your best bites! These activities are about more than food, it’s about making memories and deepening the bond between Big and Little. We're here to support you every step of the way! (fb)

In Loving Memory of Myra Camino With heavy hearts and deep admiration, we mourn the loss of Myra Ortega Camino, the 2018 Big Sister of the Year for both Big Brothers Big Sisters Association of Florida and of America. Myra’s legacy stretches far beyond awards and recognition. It lives on in every life she touched. With over more than a decade of service, Myra mentored three Little Sisters, each of whom carries forward a part of her spirit. She showed us all that mentorship isn't only about time, it's about heart. It's about choosing to show up, again and again, with love, even when life is incredibly hard. Despite her personal battle with stage-four breast cancer, Myra never wavered in her commitment to her most recently matched Little Sister Saleen, with whom she shared a beautiful lifelong bond. In Saleen’s own words: “Myra was such a huge part of my life... She was the most brave, compassionate, and loving person you could ever meet. You could talk to Myra about anything and everything and she’d just listen and make you feel heard.” To know Myra was to be touched by joy, grace, and unshakable faith. She not only gave her time as a volunteer but also served professionally at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County and Miami, working to support and serve children across the community. Ana M. Cedeno, former CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County, says: "To live fully, to feel every emotion, to love fully, and to smile through adversity, this was Myra. Thank you for showing us all how to truly LIVE." Gale Nelson, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami, shared these words: “Myra began her Big Brothers Big Sisters journey in Miami, and she left an indelible mark on all who knew her. An amazing staff member that all admired. She was an impactful Big as evidenced by her little sister Samantha (“Sam”), naming her first born child, Sa’myra to honor her Big Sister. Myra’s legacy lives on!” On behalf of the entire Big Brothers Big Sisters of Florida family, we thank you, Myra, for showing us what it means to truly live with purpose. Your story will continue to ripple through generations, and your light will never dim. Our hearts are with her husband Richard Camino and sons Sebastian and Leonel. (fb)
