On January 1 1998 the Isanti Fire Department made significant changes to its managerial procedures. These changes resulted in thetransformation into the Isanti Area Joint Operating Fire District or the Isanti Fire District. This mutually agreed on joint powers agreement has been the foundation to an efficient working relationship between all entities6 Townships and the City of Isantiwho are protected by the Department. Each entity has1 elected representative who attendsmonthly fire board meetings where together they make the decisions that governthe Fire Departments operations.
