The Mendota Mdewakanton Dakota Tribal Community is seeking archivists to assist with organizing its archive. These archivists will be responsible for sorting and cataloging thousands of pages of tribal historical and business records to create an archive that can be used by the tribe’s officers and researchers. Salary: $40 per hour Requirements: ● Bachelors or Masters degree in archival management, library science, information science, history, or other relevant field. ● Experience in working with cataloging and archives management in a museum, archive, or private collection. ● Knowledge of good practices for working with indigenous communities. ● Willingness to consult with tribal officers regarding organization and preservation questions. ● Availability to work onsite in the St. Paul area between June 1 and June 30. Hello Relatives Due to the many people who called or emailed that they would not be able to come due to the weather - we will be honoring our ancestors on Sat March 1 st . Everything else is the same. Sat March 1 st is the first opening for the DuPuis House. The first email I sent out had Feb 22 would be our next date we could have the ceremony but the Dupuis House was not available. The ceremony will be at Fort Snelling at 11:am, feast at the DuPuis House same. Please bring a dish to pass. Please remember: Feb 15th is our inipi, fire at 11:00am also at the DuPuis House.
