Pets Are Worth Saving (PAWS) of Rutherford Co, NC is a 501(c)3 org practicing the No-Kill Equation to stop the killing of pets merely because they are homeless. Our Mission is to end the killing of adoptable dogs and cats in Rutherford County, NC by combining: • trap, neuter, release program for free-living cats; • low-cost spay/neuter outreach; • working with rescue groups; • a foster care program; • comprehensive adoption programs; • pet retention efforts; • medical/behavioral rehabilitation; • working with volunteers; and • education programs With the support of the community implement No Kill tenets for homeless, adoptable dogs and cats: • until they can be successfully adopted into permanent homes • To provide direct care giving and veterinary services to the animals • To work to eliminate animal neglect, abuse, and overpopulation through educational/community outreach • To end the senseless killing of pet
