Today, we joined American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network Pennsylvania - ACS CAN , Children First, Philadelphia Unemployment Project, The Arc of Philadelphia, & the Philadelphia Medical Society outside of Senator Dave McCormick's office in Philadelphia to call attention to the harmful impacts that cuts to Medicaid in the bill passed last week in the House would have on people fighting cancer, people with disabilities, and working Pennsylvanians. Pennsylvania Health Access Network
Early this morning, the House of Representatives passed a bill that would cut nearly a trillion dollars from healthcare—including the largest cuts to Medicaid in history -- in order to pay for tax cuts for wealthy Americans and corporations. Now, the bill moves on to the Senate for further debate. These dangerous and rushed cuts would mean terminating healthcare for more than 600,000 Pennsylvanians and doubling health insurance premiums for many more.
