🌳Boots on the ground…. Eyes on the forest. Hearts in the community. This is how important our Ranger teams are. During a routine patrol, our KFT rangers encountered three young school boys cutting down fresh eucalyptus trees for firewood. They issued a verbal warning, confiscated two pangas and tying ropes, and directed the boys to leave the forest. This is not just about enforcement — it’s about education. Our rangers play a vital role not only in protecting the forest, but also in guiding the next generation to understand why these ecosystems matter. In places where access to resources is limited, awareness is the first step toward change. Why it matters: The Kijabe Forest is a critical water catchment, biodiversity hotspot, and climate regulator.
