Post-Finasteride Syndrome Foundation

The Post-Finasteride Syndrome Foundation – Dedicated to supporting research and finding treatments for PFS patients worldwide.

We facilitate clinical research on PFS, generate awareness of the condition, provide support to PFS patients and lobby for stricter regulations on finasteride. We are dedicated to raising global awareness of Post-Finasteride Syndrome The PFS Foundation’s primary mission is to facilitate research on the characterization, underlying biologic mechanisms, and potential treatments of post-finasteride syndrome (PFS). Other goals include generating public awareness of PFS, providing support for patients suffering from the condition, and lobbying for stricter regulation so that fewer unsuspecting men develop the condition. Often life-altering, PFS is characterized by devastating sexual, neurological, and physical side effects that persist in men who have taken the 5-alpha reductase type II enzyme inhibitor finasteride. Finasteride is prescribed for the treatment of hair loss under the brand name Propecia (and generics) and for the treatment of enlarged prostate under the brand name Proscar (and generics).
