Milestones Equestrian Achievement Program, a nonprofit offering therapeutic riding to individuals with disabilities and adults over 50, is currently seeking a Volunteer Board Treasurer to join our Board of Directors. About Milestones: Milestones provides equine-assisted therapeutic riding that promotes physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Our mission is to empower individuals to achieve greater independence and confidence through the healing connection between rider and horse. Position: Volunteer Board Treasurer Time Commitment: Approximately 5 hours per month, in addition to attending monthly board meetings (held the 2nd Monday of each month) Location: Remote/Flexible (with occasional local engagement if applicable) Role Summary: The Treasurer of Milestones, Inc. is responsible for overseeing the financial management of the Corporation and ensuring its financial health and compliance with nonprofit standards. Duties and Responsibilities: Collect and deposit funds Maintain accounts and financial records Administer and pay the obligations of the Corporation Prepare and ensure compliance with the Corporation’s annual budget Prepare monthly financial reports and present them at Board of Directors meetings Prepare and file all required tax returns Reinforce the Corporation’s financial sustainability, strategy, and community outreach Perform other duties as designated by the Board of Directors What We’re Looking For: Background in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping (nonprofit experience a plus) Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Commitment to the mission of Milestones and a collaborative team spirit Support & Transition: Our current Treasurer is available to train and support the incoming volunteer, ensuring a smooth and confident transition into the role.
