❤️ The Unshaken Guardian of Local Cloth: Our Fiber Vault’s Revival ❤️ 🌊 When Hurricane Helene flooded our studio with over 11 feet of water, nearly everything was displaced—except for one steadfast survivor: our historic Fiber Vault. 💪 This massive safe (once the hotel’s vault in the building’s past life!) didn’t budge an inch. But it was buried under layers of silt and muck, its steel walls caked with the storm’s grime. 🧰 Enter Gail Lazaras (Local Cloth Board Member + Fiber Heroine!), who led a patient, determined team of volunteers in an archaeological rescue mission. Inch by inch, they scrubbed, polished, and restored the vault to its former glory—because even hurricanes can’t erase history (or our community’s grit!). 🫶 Soon, it’ll once again safeguard our Fiber Vault treasures—but today, we’re just marveling at its resilience.
