Black Economic Union of Greater Kansas City : Oldest Community Development organization in the country. Est. in 1968, as a nonprofit community economic development organization. Created to support minority families & entrepreneurs with opportunities for affordable housing/homeownership in urban core, business and real estate development projects, & more. COMMUNITY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT & SUBSTAINABILITY The mission is to enhance the quality of life of low and moderate income African American citizens and business owners by promoting economic, social and physical redevelopment and revitalization of distressed and or blighted communities.
