Today we celebrate Laura Smith-Hill on twenty-four years with LSS! As the Intercultural Services Associate Director with the Center for New Americans, Laura supports Education Services to refugee and immigrant adult English learners and the community engagement of the Multi-Cultural Center. “My joy and passion comes from who we serve every day. This year we have been privileged to serve over 1,000 adult English learners at Center for New Americans. It is a gift and honor to come alongside people who have come to the US for refuge from violence and persecution. These are the most humble, grateful, dedicated people I know. Today we celebrate Laura Mladenich on her first anniversary with LSS! Laura is the Domestic Violence Intervention Coordinator with Re-Entry Services. “I meet with clients involved with the court system and conduct a risk assessment. I then make recommendations (resources, programs, treatment and more) for the client based on what is most likely to help reduce their risk of re-offense.
