Safety Support and Education to Break the Cycle Our Mission LGBTQ youth are disproportionally represented in the foster care system. As they reach adulthood they face higher rates than their peers of incarceration drug and alcohol abuse sex trafficking homelessness and attempted suicide. Sanctuary seeks to interrupt this pattern by providing our residents the support skills and education needed to break that cycle. Started in 2017 Oak Grove Sanctuary Palm Springs provides safe transitional housing and supportive resources to foster youth who identify as LGBTQ as they transition from dependency to independent adulthood at age 18.
