This project is a testament to the power of collaboration, determination, and the transformative impact of solar-powered electricity. In partnership with The Community Project: Ethiopia and their incredible Ethiopian team–Tilaye Gizaw, Fikeremariam Negash M. and Abiyou Tilahun–we successfully installed an 8.4 kW solar PV system with battery storage. Together, we navigated many challenges through a global pandemic and ongoing civil unrest in Ethiopia. Today, this system powers classrooms, computers, educational technology, and after-school programs, creating lasting opportunities for students and their families. Help us bring solar powered electricity to Bompaso, Ghana! In Bompaso, 600 residents live without access to electricity. Families rely on kerosene and wood for energy, and walk miles to the nearest place to charge a phone. Twende Solar, in partnership with PACE Ghana, is installing a 10 kW system with battery storage for the Bompaso Community Center (see photo below), transforming it into a hub for education, healthcare, and economic opportunity.
