In 2018, we teamed up with UN Environment Programme to launch the Global Commitment, a major global voluntary effort to tackle plastic waste and pollution. Since then, over 1,000 organisations from across the world, including businesses representing 20% of all plastic packaging produced globally and 50 government signatories, have mobilised behind the Global Commitment’s common vision of a circular economy for plastic, in which it never becomes waste. With signatories setting ambitious 2025 targets to help realise that common vision, next week, we share the sixth annual progress report which looks at how they are faring against these targets and key lessons learned along the way.
