As one of ten volunteer rescue squads in Virginia Beach, VA we supprt the Mission Statement of the City of Virginia Beach Department of Emergency Medical Services."The mission of the Department of Emergency Medical Services it to deliver valued services to the communtiy that preserve life, improve health, and promote the safety of citizens and visitors, who live, learn, work and play in our community while maintaining a sustainable systems approach that is focused on dynamic resource utilization to enhance the overall quality of life in Virginia Beach.

Its ten volunteer rescue squads responded to a combined total of 46072 EMS calls for assistance in 2020. Originally organized in 1943 as a volunteer fire department we are chartered in the Commonwealth of Virginia as Davis Corner Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad Inc. We no longer have volunteer firefighters and are generally referred to as Davis Corner Rescue Squad or Rescue 2.
