Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycyle Club of Memphis Tennessee
The Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club of Memphis, Tennessee is a nonprofit organization and a chapter of the National Association of Buffalo Soldiers and Troopers Motorcycle Club (NABSTMC). Established to honor the legacy of the African American 9th and 10th Cavalry regiments known as the Buffalo Soldiers, the Memphis chapter promotes motorcycle riding, safety, and community service.
History and Background
The National Association of Buffalo Soldiers and Troopers Motorcycle Club was founded in October 1993 in Chicago, Illinois by Kenneth "Dream Maker" Thomas. The organization began to foster unity and fellowship among motorcyclists while honoring the history and sacrifices of the Buffalo Soldiers—African American cavalrymen who served in the late 19th century. Since its founding, NABSTMC has expanded to over 100 chapters nationally and internationally, including the Memphis chapter.
Mission and Activities
The Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club of Memphis is composed of professional men and women committed to the sport of motorcycle riding and safety. The club members ride motorcycles symbolizing the horses once ridden by the historic Buffalo Soldiers. The club proudly wears colors paying homage to the valor, sacrifice, and heritage of the 9th and 10th Cavalry Buffalo Soldiers.
Beyond riding, the club is heavily engaged in community service. Its activities include feeding the homeless, awarding scholarships to graduating high school seniors, and supporting charitable causes such as the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
