Madison Ave Christian Church
MonkDev provides web solutions across all industries but we are thought leaders in the non-profit space, where thousands of churches, ministries and other non-profits use our services. Creators of Ekklesia 360. The mission of the Madison Avenue Christian Church is to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, witnessing, loving and serving from our doorsteps to the ends of the earth. MACC is committed to celebrating God's love in today's world by welcoming all, serving those who are in need and building relationships through fellowship.Affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Madison Avenue Christian Church traces its roots to 1875 when 60 members left First Christian Church(DoC) in Covington to form Fourth Street Christian. In 1912, Fourth Street Christian and Central Christian consolidated to form what is known today as Madison Avenue Christian Church. The new church building was consecrated on November 30, 1913. By the 1950's the congregation grew to a peak membership of over 1,000. With the advent of suburban sprawl, membership began declining in the 1970s until it reached its lowest level in the 1990s. Church leadership and loyal members drafted a long-range plan in 1997 that set the church in a new direction focused on outreach to the community and an Inclusion Ministry. The Sunday morning Prayer Breakfast began in 2000 and was the forerunner of the Community Dinners which are still a core component of the church's outreach program. Chinna M. Simon became the 9th minister of the Madison Avenue Christian Church in 2004 and over the last 10 years has overseen the development and implementation of a dynamic and vital community outreach program. In 2005, the first Monday evening Community Dinner was served and a capital campaign to improve the parking lot and garden was launched. The Garden Parking Lot and various interior renovations were completed the following year. In 2008, the Good Samaritan Car Care Clinic was started as was the development of a partnership with the NKU Nursing Program. During the next year, the Community Dinner program was expanded to include an additional service on Wednesday evening to better serve the area's significant homeless and food insecure population. 2013 marked the 100th anniversary of the Madison Avenue Christian Church which continues to serve as a vibrant beacon of hope, love and fellowship to the Covington community of which it has so long been a part.MACC serves the homeless and working poor of Covington, Kentucky, a neighboring community of Cincinnati, OH.
