Welcome to the family!!! The more information I get on this baby the more confusing it gets!! I’ve talked to 24 Pet Watch, LASPCA, the adopter, and JPAWS today!! Let me recap the phone calls and info I’ve received. 24 Pet Watch It’s one of their chips The have no owner info but shows he was adopted from LASPCA in 2016 but they then got a phone call in late 2016 saying the has surrendered the dog to remove her info LASPCA It took three phones to get a person on the phone because I don’t leave voice mails as it can take a long time to get a return call. Jenny answered the phone on the third call and was very helpful and provided me with the adopter/owner info from 2016. I also asked if I could not connect with the adopter/owner did they want me to bring them THEIR dog and Jenny said no because it was found in Jefferson Parish. When I reminded her that it WAS originally a LASPCA and the adopter had an Orleans Parish address she reiterated that if it was found in Jefferson Parish they would not take it. I have a problem with this because our policy is “Once our baby always our baby!!” Adopter I called the number and there was no answer but I left a message on voicemail. I then texted the phone number and emailed the adopter also. Just as I was sending the email I received a text back saying that the dog had been surrendered in 2016. I asked if she remembered what shelter or rescue he was surrendered to and she said Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter. JPAWS Spoke to Layla and she checked the chip number in both the system they use presently and the system they were using in 2016 and it wasn’t in either! In between these phone calls I was trying to assess the condition of the baby and found several huge matted areas, a gazillion of those green sticky cockleburs and the two areas that could possibly be road rash. I will be dropping him off to Ark first thing in the morning because by the time I confirmed there was no owner it was too late to take him today. Naturally, I will keep y’all updated on what is found during his intake exam. I know for sure he will get vaccinations, bloodwork, heartworm tested and a fecal done!! (fb)
