We had the annual meeting of the inter-seminary gathering of the province. Each year, a location is chosen to host the meeting—either in Culiacán, Cd. Obregón, Hermosillo, or Nogales. This time, the meeting was held in the city of Nogales, Sonora, with the participation of 100 seminarians from the four dioceses mentioned above, along with 20 priest formators from these seminaries. The theme of this gathering focused primarily on migration, allowing participants to engage with the reality of migration from different perspectives, supported by various presenters. KBI was in charge of leading the Visa Simulation activity, aiming to convey the difficult reality of what it means to go through a migration process to enter the United States. The session was facilitated by Jesús Robles, our Education Coordinator for Mexico, and Sister Tracey Horan, Associate Director of Education and Advocacy. After being deported, Armando arrived at Kino filled with hope, but also the heavy burden of starting over in a country he barely knows. Separated from his children and family in the U.S., he now leans on faith, community, and resilience to move forward. His journey is a powerful reminder of the strength and dignity of our migrant brothers and sisters, and why our mission matters every single day.
