Valley Emergency Medical Services is a regional non-profit paramedic service formed in 1983 and the sole provider of advanced life support to the residents of the Connecticut towns of Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Shelton, Seymour and Monroe. Valley Emergency Medical Services (VEMS) is the state-designated paramedic service provider for the entire Lower Naugatuck Valley as well as the town of Monroe. Our mission is to provide emergent pre-hospital Advanced Life Support medical care to the critically sick and injured for the region's 126,500 residents.
