THE MISSION AND PURPOSE OF THIS ASSOCIATION ARE TO UPHOLD AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTIONS OF THE UNITED STATES AND THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY; TO PRESERVE AND IMPROVE JURISPRUDENCE; TO FACILITATE AND IMPROVE THE ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE; TO PROMOTE THE WELFARE OF THE BAR AND ITS CAPACITY FOR PUBLIC SERVICE; TO MAINTAIN AND IMPROVE PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS OF SKILL, HONOR, INTEGRITY AND MUTUAL RESPECT; AND TO FURTHER THE TRUST AND CONFIDENCE IN THE PRACTICE OF THE LAW AND THE JUDICIARY. IN ORDER TO ACCOMPLISH THESE OBJECTS AND PURPOSES THIS ASSOCIATION INTENDS THAT ITS BOARD OF TRUSTEES BE DRAWN FROM AND REFLECT THE BROAD AND DIVERSE MEMBERSHIP OF THE ESSEX COUNTY LEGAL COMMUNITY.
