It’s that time again! Since 2015, the annual Bears Ears Partnership calendar has highlighted the stunning scenery and the immense cultural significance of southeastern Utah to raise awareness for the protection of this sacred landscape and fundraise for our programs. This year, the calendar will be highlighting the Bears Ears watershed, putting a spotlight on the region’s vital springs, seeps, and waterways that we are working to protect. We are looking for photos that celebrate the Bears Ears watershed from a variety of perspectives. 💧 A few guidelines to keep in mind: 📍We ask that you only send images of cultural sites that are considered “public sites”. Please also refrain from sending pictures of pictographs or petroglyphs. 📍Please remember that you’re responsible for not only the photos you take, but your actions in the field. Make sure to brush up on how to Visit With Respect. Join us for our next Star Party with Telescope Viewing, Thursday, June 26 at 9:30pm at the Canyon Country Discovery Center in Monticello, Utah. These star parties bring out participants of all ages to share the wonder of the cosmos. Earlier this spring, we held star parties in both Monument Valley and Blanding, which engaged dozens of students, family members, and other members of the community looking through several telescopes at once. Thanks to support from Utah Arts and Museums, BEP will be hosting monthly star parties around each New Moon, in addition to other Dark Sky programming.
